Recommendations for Bryant University
In order to participate in Rhode Island's Solar on Schools Initiative, solar panels must be installed in locations that are visible to the community. We have chosen three locations throughout the center of campus where all Bryant students and faculty members would be able to see the panels, as would other visitors. The yellow rectangles represent the locations we would like to see the panels installed.
The first location is on the East side of the Douglas & Judith Krupp Library roof where it would be visible to anyone driving onto campus. It also allows for the sun to reach the panels first thing in the morning in order to power the library electricity and heat/air throughout the day. The second location is on the North facing side of the Unistructure which is also widely visible on campus. The final panels would be positioned on the Koffler building, preferably on the West side to balance the solar power obtained by the library panels.
